Purpose
Service Canada would prefer to receive "certified true copies" rather than original documentation to support applications for the Canada Pension Plan and Old Age Security pensions and/or benefits when possible. This document provides instructions on how to certify original documents as "true copies". The list of professionals who can certify documents as "true copies" is suitable for all pensions and benefits under the Canada Pension Plan and Old Age Security programs.
